Special Educational Needs - SEN
This page contains information about what is happening with the development of services for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) as part of the 'Putting the Learner First' programme.
Consultation
The County Council's 'Putting the Learner First' programme will include specialist facilities for children with complex learning difficulties and significant behaviour problems. Consultation will be taking place on how such facilities could be organised in a number of schools across the county in September/October 2005, the dates of which are given below. Any parent or member of the public with an interest in SEN is welcome to attend any of the meetings. The focus of the meetings will be a discussion document 'Putting the Learner First: Special Education' which we would recommend you read before attending a meeting. If you do intend to go to one of the meetings, please inform the relevant school in advance. The link to this document is given below. If you have any comments or suggestions to make either before or after the consultation meetings, please send these to Carole Deeming in the Children's Services Directorate, County Hall, Morpeth NE61 2EF or by e-mail to CDeeming@northumberland.gov.uk.
