Assessments for 2007

Hello and welcome to a special site designed to keep you informed and aware of the corporate assessment taking place in the County Council.

The Audit Commission have confirmed that they will be conducting a Corporate Assessment of the County Council. This will take place as part of the Government’s Comprehensive Performance Assessment process which is designed to give clear judgements on the quality of councils and their services.

The outcome of the Assessment is important to us as a County Council and may well have an impact on public confidence in the organisation and our ability to influence regional and national issues.

We need to be fully prepared for the assessment and hopefully this site will provide some clear guidance for everyone to follow if asked to take part in work with the inspectors.

The timetable for working with Inspectors is as follows:

• Set up meeting 31 August
• Prepararation for inspection 3-21 September
• Inspector's onsite analysis week w/c 24 September
• Onsite Inspection from 15-26 October
• Draft report to council 11 December
• Final Report 30 January
• Executive 10 March
